Martensite’s story (Marty for short) began in the north eastern part of Montana, on an Indian reservation called Wolf Point. He was born in the fall of 2020, and at 8 weeks old was found alongside his brother abandoned by their mother. Together they were brought to a animal shelter in Bozeman and were treated for illness common among the mutts from the reservations. After a few weeks he was available for adoption, and a was quickly snapped up by a family with young children and a cat. They couldn’t handle him and his affinity for attempting cat murder, and brought him back to the shelter after just a week in their home. The day after he was brought back to the shelter I met him for the first time, I had met and seen several other dogs that day and didn’t feel any real connection to any of them, but after just a moment of playing with the rambunctious little pup I knew he was gonna be my dog. The next day I brought he little bundle of joy home with me and its been a wonderful journey since then. Marty is an energetic and extremely smart dog, he has an excellent nose and can track down toys and deer with ease. He doesn’t mind the sounds of a shop, and is excellent on road trips and loves to hang out in the car. His favorite pastimes are playing fetch, tug of war, and exploring/ hiking.
Marty: Like a Dire Wolf But Better
As explained in my recent video, after several years of friendship with Marty I have come to the realization that he is in fact superior to Dire wolves in many ways. The first of which is that Marty, unlike Dire wolves Marty is still alive, which is the first point. The second reason that Marty is better than Dire wolves is his extreme level of cuteness, Dire wolves were almost certainly nowhere near as cute as Marty. The third reason is a big one, Marty is excellent at playing fetch; many experts believe that Dire wolves probably went extinct because they were bad at fetching things.
